Voicethread incorporates and utilises various means of communication and complies them onto the one site. In the classroom setting, you can post a project on Voicethread with images, text and audio files. Once posted, the rest of the class can comment and add to the information given on the post.

Critical Literacy Definition

The term 'New Literacies' is that of the varying realms within the digital setting. It involves the sharing of information and ideas through a variety of media. It speaks to the domains as listed in the Callow (2008) reading, including: Wiki's, Blogs, search engines and podcasting. Each is separate in its own right, requiring specific skills with which to navigate through the program, yet linked with one another through the digital media. Each has the inclusion of the two new 'stuffs' as mentioned in the Knobel & Lankshear (2006) document; that being the new technology and the new ethos used with, applied to, and for the program.
