Happily Blogging
Family Blog - this is a good example of how to effectively create a chronological diary entry. For those doing Art in the future Classic webs offers a unique insight into what one can do with a blog. I would use the latter for secondary students (stage 5/6, especially those doing art). It would be a great way to document the year or even use this as a piece itself. The former I would offer to the elder years of Primary (stage 2/3) as a way to document their family etc especially for the HSIE strand. It shows various ways one c an post images and the layout is easy and interesting.
Copyright issues
From the research, it seems that one can copy information from the internet as long as the infromation is for study needs and is deemed "Fair". This seems to be a legal loophole, just my opinion.
In terms of using music in videos, it is deemed also that copyright does not apply to this, again under the umbrella that it is for study/research purposes and is deemed Fair. Also, if the music is 70 years old, copyright no longer applies and can be used.

Activity from reading!
The 3 activities from the Pericles site I found to be most useful was that of the read-a-thon, the teaching support ideas and the school's literacy 21C sites.(MS readathon , Teaching Support and School's literacy). I think the linking of the school's library resources is of great use. IT provides the reader with links to various ICT resources, including links to the connected classroom program. The MS readathon provides teachers and students with a variety of book resources that are age appropriate. And finally the Teacher support ideas website provides students with a frequent email of HSC resources and book reviews etc.

Voicethread
Voicethread incorporates and utilises various means of communication and complies them onto the one site. In the classroom setting, you can post a project on Voicethread with images, text and audio files. Once posted, the rest of the class can comment and add to the information given on the post.

Critical Literacy Definition
The term 'New Literacies' is that of the varying realms within the digital setting. It involves the sharing of information and ideas through a variety of media. It speaks to the domains as listed in the Callow (2008) reading, including: Wiki's, Blogs, search engines and podcasting. Each is separate in its own right, requiring specific skills with which to navigate through the program, yet linked with one another through the digital media. Each has the inclusion of the two new 'stuffs' as mentioned in the Knobel & Lankshear (2006) document; that being the new technology and the new ethos used with, applied to, and for the program.
